Membership Terms

Last updated: 19 September 2026 · Version 1.0

These Membership Terms govern your use of the idbuddy member app as a member of an organization: a club, an association, a shop or anyone else who runs their memberships on our platform. The app is operated by Byte Buddies AB, a Swedish limited liability company, corporate registration number 559491-4979, with its registered office in Malmö, Sweden (“idbuddy”, “we”, “us” or “our”). You can reach us at info (at) idbuddy.io.

You are not our customer. Your organization is. It pays for the platform and decides what your membership is worth; we provide the app you hold it in. Nothing here asks you to pay us anything, and nothing here replaces whatever you agreed with your organization.

The separate Terms and Conditions of Service at idbuddy.io/terms are the contract with your organization. They cover plans, invoices and the duties of whoever administers your workspace, and they say three times over that they are not yours: private individuals are not customers under them, members are not parties to them, and members owe us no fees. This document is the one that applies to you.

In a nutshell

Members. In short: the six things worth knowing before the rest.
  • The app is free to you. Your organization pays for the platform, and nothing here asks you for money.
  • Your organization decides what your membership is worth. We provide the app you hold it in, and we cannot grant or refuse a benefit on their behalf.
  • Your organization is responsible for your membership data. We handle it on their instructions, never for our own purposes.
  • You can leave an organization, or delete your account entirely, whenever you want.
  • We do not sell your data, show you advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models.
  • A change to these terms that is bad for you takes effect only after thirty days' notice in the app.

1. Who these terms are for

Members. In short: You, if you hold a membership in the app. Your organization has its own agreement with us.

1.1 These terms apply when you create an account in the member app, accept an invitation to join an organization, or otherwise use the app as a member.

1.2 If you also administer an organization, you accept the Terms and Conditions of Service for that role as well. The two apply side by side: one to you as a member, one to the organization you act for.

1.3 You need to be old enough to enter an agreement on your own. If you are not, an adult with responsibility for you has to accept these terms on your behalf. We do not check anyone's age, so this is something you tell us rather than something we verify.

2. What the app does

Members. In short: It holds your memberships, your code and whatever your organizations offer you.

2.1 The member app gives you:

  • a membership in each organization you belong to, with the card and code that proves it,
  • the offers, stamp cards and events those organizations choose to publish to you,
  • a record of what you have collected, claimed and attended,
  • the settings that control your profile and what each organization sees.

2.2 What any of that is worth is your organization's decision, not ours. If a stamp card promises a free coffee, the coffee comes from the organization. We do not stand behind the offer, honour it, or refund it.

2.3 We may change how the app works, add to it, or take parts away. Where a change removes something you rely on we will say so in advance in the app.

3. Your account

Members. In short: One account, yours, kept to yourself.

3.1 Your account is personal. Do not share your sign-in, your magic links or your membership code with anyone else.

3.2 Keep your name and contact details accurate, because that is what your organizations see and what they use to reach you.

3.3 Tell us at info (at) idbuddy.io if you think somebody else has got into your account.

3.4 We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms, and we will say why when we do.

4. Your organization runs your membership

Members. In short: Joining, leaving, dues and what a perk is worth are between you and them.

4.1 Your organization decides who may be a member, what a membership costs, and what it entitles you to. Those questions go to them, not to us.

4.2 Your organization's administrators can see your membership, edit what belongs to it, hand you offers and cards, and remove you from the organization. Section 5 and the Privacy Policy say what they see about you.

4.3 An organization can leave the platform. If it does, its memberships go with it, and anything you were holding in it stops working. We do not compensate you for that, and we cannot make an organization stay.

4.4 If your organization has set a schedule for confirming memberships, a membership you do not confirm ends, and what belonged to it is deleted. The app tells you before that happens.

5. What we do with your data

Members. In short: The Privacy Policy is the full answer, and you control a good deal of it.

5.1 The Privacy Policy at idbuddy.io/privacy sets out what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It forms part of these terms.

5.2 For your account itself we are the controller. For what happens inside an organization's workspace, that organization is the controller and we act on its instructions.

5.3 You can export everything we hold about you, correct it, and delete your account, from the app. Deleting your account takes your memberships with it.

5.4 We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to advertise to you.

6. Using the app properly

Members. In short: Use it as a member, not as a way in.

6.1 Do not:

  • use somebody else's membership, code or account,
  • try to reach data that is not yours, or work around the checks that keep it separate,
  • automate, scrape or load-test the app without asking us first,
  • upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to upload,
  • interfere with the app's operation or anybody else's use of it.

6.2 The app, its design and its software stay ours. Using it gives you no rights over them beyond using it as a member.

6.3 What you put into the app stays yours. You give us permission to store and display it so the app can do its job, which ends when you delete it.

7. Availability

Members. In short: We try hard, we do not promise perfection, and it costs you nothing.

7.1 We aim to keep the app available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults.

7.2 We may take it down for maintenance. Where the work is planned we will say so in advance.

7.3 The app is provided to you free of charge, as it is. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under mandatory law.

8. Leaving

Members. In short: Leave an organization or delete the account, whenever you want.

8.1 You can leave an organization from the app. Leaving deletes what that membership held: its cards, stamps, claimed offers and queued messages.

8.2 You can delete your account from profile settings. That takes your profile, your sign-in and every membership with it.

8.3 Some records survive, in a form that is no longer about you by name: what an organization paid or was paid, and the fact that a scan happened. The Privacy Policy says which, and why.

8.4 We may close an account that has broken these terms, or where the law requires it.

9. If something goes wrong

Members. In short: We are liable for what we cause, and not for what your organization promised.

9.1 We are responsible for loss we cause you by failing to meet these terms, to the extent Swedish law makes us responsible for it.

9.2 We are not responsible for what an organization does with its own workspace: an offer it withdraws, a membership it ends, a fee it charges, or what it tells you about any of them.

9.3 Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under mandatory law, including your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

Members. In short: Material changes get 30 days' notice in the app.

10.1 We may update these terms. The date and version at the top say when they last changed.

10.2 Where a change is material and works against you, we publish a notice in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the next time you sign in we ask you to accept the new version.

10.3 For corrections that change no obligation, the updated version applies from the day it is published.

10.4 Earlier versions can be requested at info (at) idbuddy.io.

11. Swedish law and your rights

Members. In short: Swedish law, Swedish courts, and the consumer routes stay open to you.

11.1 These terms are governed by the substantive laws of Sweden, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.

11.2 If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of mandatory rules in the country where you live.

11.3 A dispute may be brought before the general courts of Sweden. As a consumer you may also take a complaint to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se) or through the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

11.4 Please write to us first at info (at) idbuddy.io. Most things are settled quickly that way.
